- Clear and make safe: Ensure the firearm is completely unloaded. Remove the magazine, lock the bolt back, and visually inspect the chamber. Safety first, always.
- Separate upper and lower : Push out the front and rear takedown pins and separate your upper from your lower receiver.
- Remove the existing trigger group : Drive out the existing hammer and trigger pins using a punch. Remove your factory trigger, hammer, disconnector, and springs.
- Drop in the FRT-15L3 : Insert the FRT-15L3 assembly into the trigger pocket. Align the pin holes and reinstall your trigger and hammer pins. The FRT-15L3 uses your existing mil-spec pins.
- Function check and reassemble : With the upper removed, perform a trigger function check: confirm the trigger engages and resets correctly with manual BCG manipulation. Reassemble the rifle and you’re done.
